Men's League: The Greater Memphis Soccer Association was officially founded in 1979, and originally consisted only of two men's divisions. The original structure consisted of regular season play during both the Fall Season and the Spring Season. A tournament was held following each Fall Season to determine the overall champion of each division. There was also occasionally a post-season tournament held during the Spring Season, but not always.
Prior to Fall 2000, Division
Champions for the entire year were determined by the winner of the Fall Season
Tournament. Beginning in Fall 2000, GMSA began to recognize the winner of
each regular season during the Fall and Spring as the champion for that
particular season. (Teams finishing first in their division during Spring
1999 and Spring 2000 are also listed below, though they were not officially
recognized as division champions during that time.)
