Player Registration - Primary

Pre-season registration for the fall season typically runs from mid-July to mid-August; for the spring outdoor season, registration typically runs from mid-January to mid-February.  (Seasons begin in late August & late February respectively.)  Players may also register in-season through the first five weeks, subject to late fees.

Players are responsible for reading all registration information that follows. Completion of the registration process is your acknowledgement that you have read and understand all policies and procedures stated during this process.
1. Finding A Team: To register, you must already be affiliated with a team. (Meaning, you must have already contacted a team's coach/manager, or otherwise been given permission by that team to register with them.)  Coaches will review their rosters during/after registration...any "unknown" players will be dropped from the roster. DO NOT attempt to register by randomly picking a team; your registration will be voided.

NOTE: All GMSA players must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration. No one under the age of 18 is allowed to register. (The previous exception for youth club teams is no longer in effect; all GMSA players must be 18 years of age at the time of their registration, regardless of team, division, or league.)
2. Cost/Fees: The soccer "fiscal year" starts over each July 1st through June 30th. Every player is considered to be "new" the first time he or she registers during that "fiscal year", regardless of whether that player played in previous seasons. All "new" players are required to pay the annual $25 TSSA registration fee during their first registration for that year, which is incorporated into all registration fees.

* If you already registered for one 11v11 team, but are returning
   to register for a second team: $5.00

* In-season transfers from one team to another: $25.00

NOTE ON TRANSFERS: If you are changing teams at any point (from last season to this season, or at any point DURING this season), you are required by league rules to notify the coach/manager of the team that you are leaving (in writing, via email) BEFORE you register (or fill out the transfer paperwork/fees, if applicable). If there is any contention of your transfer, this email must also be copied ("CCed") to the league at: info@memphissoccer.com. This rule is in place to prevent coaches from being "blind-sided" by player defections, and to allow coaches the time and opportunity to recruit replacements. Failure to give the proper notification may result in a fine, suspension, or both.  In-season transfers cost $25.  (There is no fee to change teams between seasons.)

3. Refunds: Full refunds are only available prior to beginning the season. Once the season begins, a partial refund/hold is available should the player be injured during the first game. Once a players team begins its second game of the season, player refunds are no longer available. Click here for a complete rundown of refund policy.

4. Eligibility Dates: To be eligible for your team's first match, you must register by the initial registration deadline as stated on the registration calendar below. After that date passes, in-season registration continues for the first five weeks of each season...weekly registration deadline occurs each Thursday to be eligible the following Sunday. The fifth Thursday of the season is the Roster Freeze Deadline for that season; no additional registrations or transfers can be accepted after this date. The weekly registrar's report will detail all players who successfully registered, and those with registration issues.
